Clare-Fleming.jpg

Dr Clare Fleming is a prayerful woman, a retired doctor and a photographer. She worked for 10 years as a GP with the Homeless Health Service, and for Bristol Specialist Drug and Alcohol Service. Dr Clare pioneered the Bristol Wet clinics, an alcohol-accepting clinic for street drinkers, held in the Wild Goose, a Christian-run café. She realised that often times medical and mental health services lack capacity to deal with many forms of ill health that respond better to healthy relationship-building, story-telling and creative arts. The wisdom and experience of those who have faced and overcome major life-disrupting problems challenged her traditional medical training. Dr Clare is interested in healing of spirit, soul and body in an integrated way. She is actively involved with Christian prayer networks in Bristol and across the South West. She is married to Ian and they have 2 adult sons.
