Our Vision

Woman of Purpose

On the 4th and 5th of February we went to the Women of Purpose Conference at RCCG Overcomers House in Chippenham. The theme was embracing your purpose, power and possibilities. About 25 of us from Bristol attended the conference. Pastor Fatima Sibanda was the guest minister and we went with her. Our trip in the bus was great as we chatted and prayed together. Our hosts were very hospitable, they received us with such love and warmth. We proceeded to the hall where we met the rest of the delegates. There was such a sweet spirit in the place as women were in one accord, eager to hear the word of God.

Pastor Fatima started by defining the meaning of purpose as simply the reason for which something exists, was created or made. This is also the designer`s reason for designing. In order for us to understand the purpose of a thing we need to consult the maker of that thing or product. In this case it is God who made us as women and according to Revelation 4:11, we were created for His pleasure. He made us in His image, that we may show forth His praises and that through our lives He may be glorified. He gave His Spirit to help us accomplish what we were born for. According to Ephesians 2:10, God has designed us and prepared good works for us to walk in.We learnt that as women, we are uniquely made by God for a purpose and ultimately, in whatever we do, we should use our gifts and talents to glorify God and to bless mankind. We have so much potential to do much more than we are currently doing. We have not yet fully exhausted our capacity. We still have talents and gifts we have not yet discovered and utilised. We should stay connected to our source in order to become all that which He created us for.

The late Dr. Myles Munroe defined potential as “ Who you can be that you have not yet been, how far you can reach that you have not yet reached, what you can do that you have not yet done, what you can accomplish that you have not yet accomplished….” (Releasing Your Potential) This shows us there is still so much more we can accomplish as women therefore we must embrace our purpose and continue to grow in which ever capacity and sphere of life that we engage in.There is more to all of us than this. We must live effectively and responsibly and not let anyone or anything hinder us from achieving the things that God has ordained for us. We are responsible for the use and development of the gifts that God Has given us. There is no excuse for us to remain where we are when God has made provision for us to keep on moving forward in life. We were all encouraged to seize our moment and leave a legacy for those who will come after us. We had time to pray together and to fellowship with God and one another. After that our hosts served us a great meal then we came back home to Bristol.
