WOW! It's here!
We’ve been waiting for it since we first saw the announcement slide on the projector screen at church a couple of months ago, and now it’s here. Wow! In the past year, “Wow!” has come to mean much more than an exclamation to us at GHIC. It all started in March 2015 when we had the Celebrating Womanhood conference organised by the GHIC Women’s Ministry and Hope For Every Woman; it was tagged ‘Woman of Worth’ (WOW). This year WOW is back. It’s new, rebranded, and just as promising: WOMAN OF WORSHIP.
This year’s theme is taken from the story of the woman with the alabaster box who poured its fragrant contents on Jesus. It’s a reminder of the owner of that box, and a fulfilment of a prophecy by the Lord Jesus Himself; He said: “You can be sure that wherever in the whole world the Message is preached, what she has just done is going to be remembered and admired.”
That is exactly what the women of GHIC and all their guests are doing this year. And just in case you’re asking any or all of these questions: What was it that this woman really did? What was so profound about her action that is worth remembering across all generations? What is the significance of this for me as a 21st century woman?
Our prayer is that you’ll get answers to all your questions by the time this weekend is over. So don’t miss out, let ‘WOW!’ take on a new meaning, make your way to GHIC Bristol tomorrow, Friday, 4th of March from 6:30pm and Saturday, 5th March from 9:00am.
See you there!
